Arc Light Stories and Duquette Johnston

Arc Light Stories is one of my favorite local happenings in Birmingham. Real stories, told by real people, live, with no notes. To me it combines a bit of theater with the intimacy of listening to your friends tell stories over dinner, and the mixture is magic in the Magic City.

One of my favorite stories was told by a local musician, Duquette Johnston. I attached the link to the story below. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when he finished his story. Check it out, but certainly don't miss his new EP. Download for free below.

Our Ugly Light Fixture Makeover

My wife completely changed the look of our dining room with $30 a little bit of wire. Our light fixture was ugly and outdated, but she found a large lamp shade and covered it up. Just take off the old globes and attach the shade. I highly recommend this if you don't like your current fixture.

Reclaimed Wood End Tables

I made these end tables for our house with discarded 2x4's and reclaimed pallet wood. The only cost was nails and glue.
